Authorize the Instagram account and its required linked Facebook access through Catchr. In Catchr’s Power BI query builder, select account activity and a separate media-performance table and preview a short extraction. Import the generated URL through Get data > Web in Power BI Desktop. Check the returned rows before building measures, keeping account-level activity versus accumulated media metrics clear in the model.
Check that it is a Business or Creator account, that it is linked to the expected Facebook Page, and that the Facebook user you connected can access that Page. Review the permissions granted when authorizing Catchr, then reconnect after making changes. Being able to sign in to Instagram does not by itself give the connected Facebook user access to its reporting data.
Yes, using the metrics available for each format. Post and Reel reporting includes views, reach, saves, shares and interactions, with available Reel watch-time metrics. Stories have their own interaction and navigation measures. Filter by media type or product type when comparing content; a field that is unavailable for Reels should not be interpreted as zero performance.
Meta replaced deprecated impression metrics with Views in its newer Insights API. Catchr preserves some existing field names for compatibility but maps those fields to the new Views metric. Check the field definition before comparing a recent chart with an older impressions export. A familiar chart label does not guarantee that Meta is still returning the same historical metric definition.
A publication table selects content by its publication date and retrieves the available counters for that content. Those counters are not limited to interactions that happened on the publication date. Account insights describe account-level activity for a period. Use separate charts for content performance and daily activity, and avoid adding post reach to claim a deduplicated account audience.
The Stories endpoint exposes currently available Stories, so selecting an old date range cannot reconstruct expired Stories. The account's Followers Count field is also a current audience total, not a past daily balance. Save dated snapshots if you need a long-term archive, and use available follow and unfollow insight fields separately when analyzing audience changes.
Use the Facebook Ads connector for Instagram campaigns managed in Meta Ads Manager, including spend and attributed conversions. Instagram Insights focuses on account and content performance, with some metrics that can include promoted activity. Check each metric's scope before combining sources so paid results are not counted twice or treated as purely organic.
Private Insights require authorized access to the professional account. Connecting your account does not unlock a competitor's reach, saves or audience insights. Catchr has a separate Instagram public data source for the public fields it supports. Keep public content counters separate from the private performance metrics of accounts you manage.
Our team is always here to answer any questions you may have about our data connector.
