LinkedIn Ads to Data Studio (ex Looker Studio): FAQ

Answers to common questions about connecting data to spreadsheets, dashboards, AI assistants, and reporting tools with Catchr.

How do I connect LinkedIn Ads to Looker Studio?

Authorize the LinkedIn advertising connection in Catchr, select the ad accounts you can access and create a data source with the Catchr Looker Studio connector. Begin with campaign cost, impressions and the lead or conversion metric that matches the campaign objective.

Can I report on LinkedIn Lead Gen Forms?

Yes. Catchr includes Lead Gen Form opens and One Click Leads. Use these to evaluate form engagement and submissions. Keep native form leads separate from website conversions, which follow a different journey and depend on the website conversion setup.

Why are LinkedIn clicks higher than visits to my website?

LinkedIn exposes several click types, including company-page and other in-platform interactions. Use Landing Page Clicks when the question concerns traffic sent to your site. Even that measure may differ from website sessions because loading, tracking and consent affect what your analytics tool records.

Can I separate conversions after a click from conversions after a view?

Yes. Catchr exposes post-click and post-view website conversions. Show both when explaining attribution, and match the conversion window used in Campaign Manager. A view-through conversion can be credited without a recorded click, so it will not reconcile one-for-one with click-based website reporting.

How do I measure cost per qualified LinkedIn lead?

Campaign cost divided by native leads gives a cost per submitted lead, not a cost per qualified lead. Bring qualification outcomes from a CRM such as HubSpot, define what qualifies and use a reliable campaign or lead mapping before calculating the qualified-lead metric.

Should I compare LinkedIn campaigns using CPC or CPM?

Use the metric that fits the objective. CPC describes the cost of clicks and CPM describes the cost of impressions. Neither alone measures lead quality or sales value. Compare similar objectives and audiences, then add conversion or CRM outcomes before deciding which campaign deserves more budget.

Can I analyze LinkedIn video performance?

Catchr includes video starts, views, completions and quartile-completion fields. Use them to see where viewers drop off, while keeping the selected denominator explicit. A completion rate based on starts is a different calculation from completions divided by impressions.
