Glassdoor Review to Data Studio (ex Looker Studio): FAQ

Answers to common questions about connecting data to spreadsheets, dashboards, AI assistants, and reporting tools with Catchr.

How do I connect Glassdoor reviews to Looker Studio?

Add Glassdoor Review in Catchr and enter the employer identifier from its Glassdoor URL. For a URL ending in Microsoft-Reviews-E1651.htm, use 1651. Several employer IDs can be entered as a comma-separated list. Select the employer in your Catchr data source, connect it to Looker Studio, and check a table of Review Date, Review Title, and Rating before building employer-brand dashboards.

Which Glassdoor review metrics can I analyze?

Individual review fields include rating, title, Pros, Cons, Advice, reviewer position, language, date, and current-job status when available. Separate company summaries include overall rating and ratings for culture, diversity, work-life balance, senior management, compensation, and career opportunities, plus CEO, business outlook, and recommendation measures. These summaries are current company-level values, not category scores attached to every individual review.

Can I compare feedback from current and former employees?

Catchr exposes Is Current Job on individual reviews, so you can segment the returned feedback where that value is available. Compare average Rating, review volume, and recurring themes in Pros and Cons across the groups. Retain unknown values instead of silently assigning them to former employees. The status describes the review record, not a live employment roster, and Reviewer Position is not a verified personal identity.

How do I track Glassdoor ratings and review volume over time?

Group individual reviews by Review Date, count distinct Review IDs, and average valid Rating values for the selected period. Keep company-level overall and category ratings in separate scorecards: Catchr does not allow global summaries and individual review fields in one request. Changing a date control does not reconstruct the company's historical summary score. To maintain a history of those summaries, record dated snapshots separately.

Can I identify recurring employee concerns in the dashboard?

Yes. Use separate Pros, Cons, and Advice fields to examine topics such as leadership, progression, or workload. Add your own consistent keyword categories if you need counts, and retain the Review URL so readers can inspect context. A keyword match is not an official Glassdoor sentiment score. Show the number of reviews behind each theme and avoid presenting the retrieved feedback as a representative employee survey.

Does the connector include salaries, interviews, or recruiting performance?

No. This source is for employer reviews and selected rating summaries. Its catalog does not include salary records, interview experiences, job views, applications, hiring costs, or candidate conversion rates. Glassdoor award eligibility and rankings also use separate methodologies and cannot be reproduced by simply averaging review ratings. Bring recruitment funnel data from your recruiting system if you want to compare employer reputation with hiring outcomes.

Can I compare every historical Glassdoor review with Indeed?

You can compare retrieved feedback using a separate Indeed reviews source, but do not treat either extract as a complete archive. Catchr stops paging after roughly 1,000 matching reviews, when results end, or at the requested date boundary. Use smaller periods and check coverage for high-volume employers. Keep the platform and review count visible because the populations and rating categories differ, even when both profiles describe the same company.
