Adtraction Advertising to Data Studio (ex Looker Studio): FAQ

Answers to common questions about connecting data to spreadsheets, dashboards, AI assistants, and reporting tools with Catchr.

How do I connect Adtraction to Looker Studio?

Use your Adtraction API key to connect the account to Catchr. Then open the Catchr Adtraction Advertising connector in Looker Studio, authorize Google, and select the connected source. Build a first report with program, channel, clicks, sales, order value, and commission, keeping the currency visible.

Which Adtraction metrics can I report on?

Catchr includes clicks, unique clicks, impressions, sales, leads, order value, commission, cost, and performance ratios. Program, market, channel, and transaction fields help explain those results. Keep lead-generation programs separate from sales programs when comparing conversion rates, because their conversion events represent different outcomes.

What is the difference between order value and commission?

Order value describes the tracked purchase amount; commission is the remuneration associated with the conversion. A program can use a percentage or a fixed amount, so there is no universal commission rate to apply across programs. Use the reported values and program currency rather than estimating commission from a single assumed percentage.

Why do Adtraction transactions change after they are tracked?

A tracked transaction may still require validation. Returns, cancellations, or an invalid lead can cause rejection, changing the approved results for an earlier period. Catchr exposes transaction status, last-updated information, and reason text to help explain these changes. Compare the same status filter when reconciling reports.

Is transaction approval the same as payment?

No. Transaction validation and payment progress are separate stages. Use transaction status and payment status for their respective questions instead of labeling every approved amount as paid. The fact that a conversion is valid does not establish that its commission has already reached the partner’s bank account.

How should I compare Adtraction programs and channels?

Group by program and channel identifiers, then compare the same currency, date range, and transaction status. Include both volume and efficiency measures so a high conversion rate based on a few clicks does not dominate the comparison. For totals, recompute ratios from their underlying counts rather than summing or averaging row percentages.

Can I compare Adtraction sales with store orders?

Yes. Add a source such as Shopify and validate Adtraction order IDs against the store’s order records before blending. Align currencies, dates, and status rules. Affiliate-attributed sales represent a subset of store activity and can overlap with sales claimed by other marketing platforms.
