TapClicks vs Catchr: a reporting suite or your own tools?

Compare TapClicks and Catchr pricing, native spreadsheet tools, Data Studio, Power BI, warehouse exports and MCP. Find the right fit for your agency.

TapClicks vs Catchr — reporting comparison

Catchr connects client marketing accounts to the reporting, spreadsheet and AI tools your team already uses. TapClicks can also collect, prepare and deliver marketing data, with its own dashboards and reporting suite. The choice is how much of your reporting workflow you want one platform to own, and which product package you need.

The quick answer

Choose Catchr for a clearly priced subscription covering Data Studio, Power BI, Sheets, Excel and MCP, with unlimited users from $24/month. Choose TapClicks for its built-in reporting, prepared data and client access controls. Sheets-only buyers should also consider TapClicks’ advertised free offer; Catchr’s value is the broader package.

TapClicks vs Catchr at a glance

Catchr makes the budget clear when your agency already works in several reporting tools. TapClicks offers a wider suite and separate destination products, including free entry points.

Pricing: compare the package your agency actually needs

Catchr starts at $24/month for three platforms, 10 total accounts and unlimited users. The same plan includes Data Studio, Power BI, native Sheets and Excel add-ons, and AI access.

TapClicks pricing needs a product-level comparison. Its SmartStory, SmartReports, SmartAnalytics and SmartSuite offers are quote-led. Its Google Sheets product page separately advertises a free allowance. A suite quote may include reporting work that your existing BI tools already handle.

Data sources: can you connect your clients’ marketing stack?

Advertising, analytics, ecommerce and CRM platforms

Catchr connects the marketing stack an agency uses for client reporting: advertising platforms, analytics, ecommerce, CRM and social data. Google Ads, Meta Ads, GA4, Shopify and HubSpot are examples of the sources you can bring into familiar destinations.

TapClicks advertises 250+ native connectors and SmartConnectors for additional inputs. Its catalog covers major marketing platforms alongside programmatic, call-tracking and custom-data workflows. A SmartConnector that reads a database into TapClicks is a source connection; warehouse delivery is handled by Data Exporter.

Metrics, dimensions and historical data

Catchr lets you select the metrics and breakdowns your report needs, such as spend by campaign and date. The available fields and historical window depend on the source API and account permissions.

TapClicks can prepare data with calculations and shared channel definitions before reporting or export. That matters when several clients need the same business rules. In Catchr workflows, your chosen spreadsheet, BI tool or warehouse can own those calculations. Connector counts alone do not establish identical field coverage.

Managing multiple accounts across clients

Five clients with one Google Ads account each use one platform and five accounts in Catchr. Momentum’s 30-account allowance is shared across its five platforms, so a 25-account agency has five accounts available for growth.

TapClicks organizes data around client assignments and Data Profiles. Capacity differs by product: the free Sheets offer counts accounts per source, while Direct uses a shared account allowance. A client record in the reporting suite is not interchangeable with a marketing-source account.

Connect your existing tools or centralize reporting in TapClicks

Start with where your team does its work. Catchr makes connected marketing data available in your existing reporting and analysis tools. TapClicks can also prepare the data, build reports and manage client visibility inside its own platform.

Both support several external destinations. The sections below distinguish the actual connection, spreadsheet or export route behind each one.

Catchr exports marketing data to your own warehouse. BigQuery starts on Momentum at $79/month. Growth adds API access; Scale opens Snowflake, Redshift, Azure SQL, MySQL, PostgreSQL, S3, Google Cloud Storage and Azure Blob Storage, plus custom schema mapping.

TapClicks Data Exporter also supports real scheduled and on-demand delivery, including BigQuery, Snowflake, Redshift and S3. Its advantage is exporting data after TapClicks calculations, channels and preparation.

For database destinations, TapClicks documents merging into the same table or creating a new table. Its FAQ excludes Leads and on-demand connector data from exports. Azure SQL uses an Azure Blob Storage and Data Factory route rather than a direct destination.

Choose Catchr when your warehouse should own the analysis and transformations. TapClicks fits teams that want their warehouse to receive the suite’s prepared reporting data.

Catchr includes MCP from Starter at $24/month. Ask Claude or ChatGPT about campaign performance, compare channels and prepare a client summary from connected data. ChatGPT, Claude and Copilot access sits alongside your dashboards and spreadsheets.

Your assistant can also create and manage reporting export jobs. Storage destinations still follow the relevant Catchr plan, so the same conversation can support analysis and recurring delivery.

TapClicks MCP gives assistants access to its marketing data. Existing Data Profiles control which sources, dashboards and metrics are visible. This is useful for agencies already managing client access inside TapClicks; the MCP module must be enabled.

The public guides establish data discovery and analysis, but do not establish equivalent export-job management through MCP. That capability remains unconfirmed.

Today’s MCP capabilities cover analysis and reporting export jobs.

Catchr connects marketing accounts to Data Studio from Starter. Build client dashboards with charts, date controls, filters and blends. The same sources can also feed your spreadsheets and AI assistant under the same subscription.

TapClicks Direct provides source-specific connectors that query data on demand. Its separate 250+ Connector route uses the broader TapClicks data platform, so prepared data and shared calculations can sit before the dashboard.

For a Facebook Ads-only report, the currently free Direct connector deserves consideration. For an agency using several destinations, Catchr’s included tools and unlimited users give you a clear monthly budget. Choose the route that matches where your report’s calculations already live.

TapClicks introduced a BI integrations area for pushing transformed platform data to Power BI and Tableau. Its release note directs customers to their Customer Success Manager for access.

Catchr fits a team that wants to keep its reporting model in Power BI. TapClicks fits a team that wants calculations and data preparation handled centrally before delivery. Include the BI integration in the TapClicks proposal; Power BI licensing remains separate from Catchr.

TapClicks

Both products offer native Google Sheets add-ons. Catchr includes its add-on from Starter, with hourly, daily, weekly or monthly updates. Choose replace, append or combine/update behavior for recurring reports and campaign-pacing tables.

TapClicks’ add-on lets you select a data source, view, columns, groups and date range in a sidebar. You can insert data, insert a formula or save the query. Its documented automatic refresh runs daily, weekly or monthly and applies to formulas; inserted data does not refresh.

The free Sheets offer is attractive for a small portfolio that fits its limits. Catchr is useful when you also need Excel, Power BI, Data Studio and AI access, or want hourly updates and different row-update modes.

TapClicks’ Sheets FAQ says the formula’s original author controls modification and manual refresh. That distinction matters when several colleagues maintain the same reporting workbook.

Catchr includes a native Excel add-in for web and desktop from Starter. Choose your marketing source, accounts, fields and dates inside the workbook. Your team can keep working in the same model as its reporting data updates.

TapClicks offers Excel files from its dashboards and widgets. A dashboard download puts each widget’s data on a separate worksheet. Its Report Scheduler also supports Excel email attachments for supported report types, so file delivery can be automated.

These are different working patterns. TapClicks suits an account manager sending a finished report. Catchr’s add-in suits an analyst maintaining a forecast, pacing workbook or recurring client model. The TapClicks documentation reviewed did not establish a native Excel add-in equivalent.

Which one fits your team?

Choose TapClicks when…

Choose TapClicks when native reporting and central data preparation are part of the purchase. Its own dashboards, report delivery, calculations and client access controls can justify adopting a wider suite.

It also deserves consideration for a Sheets-only team that fits the free offer, or a Data Studio user who only needs its currently free Facebook Ads connector. Those focused use cases do not need the full Catchr package.

Choose Catchr when…

Choose Catchr when your team already likes its reporting tools. A freelancer can connect three marketing platforms for $24/month and use them in dashboards, spreadsheets and AI. An agency with five platforms, 25 accounts and three people fits Momentum at $79/month, including BigQuery.

Your subscription grows with platforms and account capacity, while users remain unlimited. Catchr is especially useful when account managers, analysts and clients need different reporting destinations from the same connected stack.

How to move from TapClicks to Catchr

  1. Separate the connections from the suite. List the reports, calculations, client permissions and scheduled deliveries you use in TapClicks. Decide which will live in Data Studio, Power BI, spreadsheets or your warehouse.
  2. Connect one client’s stack in Catchr. Select its accounts and recreate one recurring report in the destination your team will maintain.
  3. Move the business rules. Rebuild shared channel definitions and calculated KPIs in that destination. Keep the existing report available while you compare a completed reporting period.
  4. Replace delivery deliberately. Set up workbook refreshes, warehouse jobs and client sharing. A TapClicks scheduled Excel attachment and a Catchr workbook query serve different tasks.
  5. Expand after the first reporting cycle. Move the remaining clients once account managers can access their reports and scheduled updates are running.

Catchr replaces the source connections and destination delivery. TapClicks dashboards, report layouts and operational modules need their own replacement when you rely on them.
