Awin to Data Studio (ex Looker Studio): FAQ

Answers to common questions about connecting data to spreadsheets, dashboards, AI assistants, and reporting tools with Catchr.

How do I connect Awin to Looker Studio?

Connect Awin to Catchr using the API key requested during setup. Open the Catchr Awin connector in Looker Studio, authorize your Google account, and choose the account available through that connection. Start with transactions, sale amounts, commission amounts, and commission status to build a clear affiliate performance report.

Which Awin affiliate metrics can I report on?

Catchr includes clicks, impressions, transaction counts, sale amounts, and commission amounts, with pending, approved, declined, and bonus measures where available. Account, advertiser, publisher, campaign, creative, and transaction fields provide context. Select fields appropriate to your account and report type rather than assuming every dimension can be combined in one chart.

What is the difference between Awin sales and commission?

The sale amount describes the tracked transaction value, while the commission amount describes the affiliate remuneration associated with that transaction. They serve different reporting purposes. Keep their currencies and validation statuses aligned, and do not treat all tracked sale value as publisher earnings or all pending commission as final income.

Why do Awin totals change after the original transaction date?

Transactions can move from pending to approved or declined, and sale or commission amounts can be amended. A report revisited later may therefore differ even with the same transaction date range. Use commission status, amendment information, and decline reasons to explain changes instead of assuming historical figures are permanently fixed.

Does an approved Awin commission mean it has been paid?

Approval status and payment status are separate. Catchr exposes commission status as well as the paid-to-publisher field and payment identifiers on transaction records. Use those payment fields when answering whether a commission has been paid, rather than treating the approved commission total as a cash-received figure.

Can I analyze Awin performance by campaign or click reference?

Yes. Campaign and click-reference fields can help organize the transactions returned for your account. Use consistently populated tracking values and keep transaction IDs available for reconciliation. Click dates and transaction dates describe different events, so align the date basis before comparing campaign clicks with resulting transactions.

Can I compare Awin transactions with store orders?

Yes. Add a store source such as Shopify and validate the relationship between Awin order references and your store’s order identifiers. Align currencies, transaction statuses, and dates before blending. Awin measures attributed affiliate transactions, so its totals do not represent every sale in the store.
