Connect Hubspot to Google Sheets

Easily access your data and automate your report with Catchr's add-on!

This tutorial is designed to guide marketing professionals on how to effortlessly link their HubSpot marketing data to Google Sheets using Catchr. By the end of this guide, you will be equipped to create dynamic reports and dashboards directly in Google Sheets, leveraging the rich data capabilities of HubSpot.

How to connect your HubSpot account to Google Sheets

Add a source on Catchr

To start, navigate to the Catchr dashboard, and locate the 'Source' option in the sidebar menu. Click to expand it, then select 'Add a Source' located at the upper right corner. From there, choose HubSpot from the available platforms and proceed with the authentication steps to link Catchr with your HubSpot account.

Add source on Catchr

Create a New Query

Open a new or existing Google Sheets document and locate the 'Catchr' option in the top menu. Click it, and from the dropdown, select 'New Query'. This action prompts the creation of a new query window, setting the stage for importing your HubSpot data.

Select Your Data Source

Within the query editor, it's necessary to specify the data source. Choose 'HubSpot' from the list. Should you not see HubSpot listed, add it as a new source by clicking the "+" icon adjacent to the source dropdown menu.

Select data source

Select Your Account(s)

Move to the 'Select account(s)' section and highlight the specific HubSpot account(s) you wish to import data from. This is crucial for ensuring the accurate aggregation of data in your sheets.

Select accounts

Choose Metrics and Dimensions

Next step involves the selection of metrics and dimensions for your data import. Each choice defines the structure and the detail layer of your data reporting. Examples of metrics and dimensions from HubSpot you might select include:

Metrics:

  • Company Facebook Fans: Total fan count for the company’s Facebook Page.
  • Company Number of Pageviews: Total page views on the company's website.
  • Company Number of Sessions: Total sessions initiated on the company's website.
Select metrics

Dimensions:

  • Company Country/Region: Geographic location data of the company.
  • Company Industry: Sector the company operates within.
  • Company Annual Revenue: The yearly earnings of the company.
Select dimensions

Ensure the selected metrics and dimensions align with your analysis goals and reporting requirements.

Set Date Range

Adjust to the 'Date Range' tab to define the timeframe for your data pull. Catchr provides preset ranges such as 'Last month' or 'This year', alongside the option for custom date range selection to fit your precise needs.

Set date range

Apply Filters

To further refine your data, proceed to the 'Filters' tab where you can narrow down your query based on specific criteria. A common filter setup for HubSpot data may be:

  • Field: Company Country/Region
  • Operator: Equals
  • Value: United States

For instance, filtering by 'Company Country/Region' Equals 'United States' will restrict the data to U.S.-based companies only.

Apply filters

Schedule & Customize Data Refreshness

The final step involves configuring your data refresh settings under the 'Options' tab. Choose to either manually refresh your data or set a schedule for automatic updates. Opt-in for additional options like appending or combining rows as necessary for your datasets.

Schedule data refresh

In conclusion, by following these steps, you'll seamlessly bridge your HubSpot data into Google Sheets, unlocking a host of potential for dynamic and insightful data analysis.

Example of Google Sheets you can create to use with the HubSpot source

With HubSpot as your data source, Google Sheets becomes a powerful tool for visualizing and analyzing your marketing data. Here are a few examples of the types of sheets you can create:

  • Customer Journey Analysis: Trace the path of your customers from initial contact through to conversion, leveraging metrics like First Touch and Last Touch Converting Campaigns, Pageviews, and Conversion Dates.
  • Social Media Engagement Report: Aggregate data on your company's social media reach and engagement, using metrics such as Facebook Fans, Twitter Followers, and LinkedIn Interactions.
  • Website Traffic and Performance Dashboard: A comprehensive view of your website's traffic, session behavior, and conversions, using Pageviews, Total Sessions, and specific Conversion Metrics.
  • Revenue and Growth Analysis: An in-depth look at financial performance over time, including Annual Revenue, Total Money Raised, and Deal Closure Rates.
  • Customer Support Metrics Sheet: Analyze your customer support efficiency and trends with data on tickets closed, time to resolution, and customer feedback scores.

These examples barely scratch the surface of what’s possible when connecting HubSpot to Google Sheets via Catchr. The ability to customize your queries, metrics, and dimensions allows for limitless possibilities tailored to your specific business needs and goals.
