Explore publisher revenue, inventory and creative performance

Start by discovering the Google Ad Manager fields available for your connected network, then select the columns needed for your question. Use supported historical reporting dimensions and metrics, checking field compatibility before combining them.

01

Explain revenue changes with the right revenue definition

Review Total revenue alongside Total CPM and CPC revenue to distinguish reporting that includes CPD from reporting that excludes it. Explore Ad server total revenue and Yield group estimated revenue when those measures fit the client question.

Use date, week or month and year to compare periods. Keep monetary results in the network’s reporting currency and identify that currency before presenting amounts.

02

Find differences across countries, devices and inventory

Break down compatible revenue and eCPM measures by Country, Device category or Inventory type. These views help you identify which segments deserve a closer look during a publisher performance review.

Select the relevant eCPM measure, such as Ad Exchange average eCPM, AdSense average eCPM or Ad server average eCPM. Keep their definitions separate when explaining differences to clients.

03

Review creative CTR and size differences

Use Creative and Creative ID to identify the assets in your report. Where compatible, add Total CTR or Ad server CTR to find creatives that fall below a client-selected threshold.

Compare Creative target ad unit size with Rendered creative size to inspect differences between the intended and displayed size. Treat these observations as questions for further investigation, rather than proof of why CTR changed.

PROMPT 01

Explain a change in publisher revenue

Using Catchr, discover the available Google Ad Manager fields for [network]. Use Total revenue and Total CPM and CPC revenue, where available, to compare [start date–end date] with [comparison start date–comparison end date]. Show each measure’s absolute and percentage change, identify the network currency and explain the distinction between revenue including and excluding CPD. Mark percentage changes as undefined when the comparison value is zero.

Google Ad Manager reporting with Catchr MCP: common questions

How do I connect Google Ad Manager to Catchr MCP?

Authorize Google Ad Manager in Catchr using Google OAuth and select the relevant network. Then connect your AI destination, such as ChatGPT or Claude, through Catchr MCP. Discover the available fields before asking for a report with your chosen network and dates.

What is the difference between Total revenue and Total CPM and CPC revenue?

Total revenue includes CPM, CPC and CPD revenue across the reporting sources covered by that metric. Total CPM and CPC revenue excludes CPD. Choose the definition that matches your client report and keep it consistent across periods.

Which Google Ad Manager fields can I query?

The connector supports directly requestable historical reporting dimensions and metrics. Discover available fields and check their compatibility for each query. Fields requiring custom dimension key IDs or custom field IDs are excluded; a field’s availability does not mean it can be combined with every other field.

How should I report revenue across client networks with different currencies?

Monetary values use each network’s reporting currency, identified separately by network_currency_code. Label amounts with that currency and keep different currencies separate unless you apply an explicit conversion method. Do not assume every network reports in the same currency.
