Bring YouTube engagement and earnings into client conversations

Build your analysis around channels and videos, with metrics that distinguish audience interactions, card activity and monetization. Choose the supported fields and breakdowns that fit each reporting question.

01

Channel and video engagement

Use likes, comments, shares and subscribers gained to review audience activity over a selected period. Compare video interactions and track changes in channel subscriber gains for your client report.

Channel and video reporting supports geography, playback, traffic, device, demographic and engagement breakdowns. Check which combinations are available for your chosen metrics before requesting a breakdown.

02

Cards and teaser interactions

Review card impressions, card clicks and card click rate to understand how viewers interact with cards. Examine card teaser impressions, clicks and click rate separately to assess the teaser stage.

Keep these measures distinct in your report: a card click rate compares card clicks with card impressions, while a teaser click rate uses teaser clicks and impressions. A single video view can generate multiple teaser impressions.

03

Estimated revenue and monetized playbacks

Review estimated revenue and estimated ad revenue at channel or video level. Estimated revenue includes advertising and non-advertising sources; estimated ad revenue covers Google-sold advertising sources.

For channel advertising performance, examine ad impressions, monetized playbacks, CPM and playback-based CPM. CPM measures estimated gross revenue per thousand ad impressions; playback-based CPM uses playbacks. Keep gross and net revenue separate, and label revenue figures as estimates.

YouTube Analytics through Catchr MCP: practical questions

How do I connect YouTube Analytics to ChatGPT or Claude?

Authorize YouTube in Catchr through OAuth, select the relevant accounts and connect your AI destination through Catchr MCP. Start your question with the account, date range and YouTube metrics you want to review.

Can I use subscribers gained to report net subscriber growth?

No. Subscribers gained counts the times users subscribed to a channel. It does not subtract subscribers lost, so report it as subscriber additions rather than net growth.

What is the difference between estimated revenue and estimated ad revenue?

Estimated revenue includes estimated net revenue from Google-sold advertising and non-advertising sources. Estimated ad revenue covers estimated net revenue from Google-sold advertising sources. Gross revenue is a separate measure and is subject to month-end adjustment.

Which breakdowns can I request for YouTube channel and video analysis?

Channel and video reporting supports geography, playback, traffic, device, demographic and engagement breakdowns. Check compatibility with your selected metrics before querying. Channel country describes the country associated with the channel; it should not be used as a viewer geography measure.
