Explore traffic quality, conversions and ecommerce outcomes

Piwik offers several ways to explain what happens after visitors arrive. Discover the columns available for your connected account first, then select compatible dimensions and metrics for each analysis.

01

Compare acquisition sources and visitor engagement

Use Channel, Medium or Source / medium to organize incoming traffic. Review Bounce rate and Bounces alongside Goal conversion rate to see how engagement and completed goals differ across the selected breakdown.

For a client review, ask which sources deserve closer investigation. A difference in bounce rate can guide the next question; it does not establish why visitors left.

02

Review orders, revenue and abandoned cart value

Choose Orders and Order rate to examine purchase outcomes. Add Revenue and Abandoned cart value to compare completed order value with the value of carts left without a purchase.

Select a consistent currency basis. Piwik exposes local, site or app currency, and USD variants for revenue and abandoned cart value. Revenue includes subtotal, tax, shipping and discounts; abandoned cart value excludes discounts, shipping and taxes.

03

Give campaign reporting a website outcome view

Explore available Campaign name, Campaign ID and Campaign content columns to organize analytics around campaign parameters. Campaign content comes from utm_content, making it useful when reviewing how tagged campaign variations relate to website outcomes.

Where the selected columns can be queried together, compare Goal conversion rate, Order rate or Orders across campaigns. Keep the chosen breakdown visible so clients understand exactly what each result represents.

Questions about Piwik reporting through Catchr MCP

How do I connect Piwik to ChatGPT through Catchr MCP?

Connect your Piwik account to Catchr using OAuth 2, select the relevant account and connect ChatGPT through Catchr MCP. Discover the available Piwik columns, then ask a question with your chosen metrics, breakdown and reporting period.

Which Piwik fields can I use in a question?

Discover the columns available for your connected account before choosing them. Useful selections include Channel, Source / medium, Bounce rate, Goal conversion rate, Orders and Revenue. Availability and valid combinations should be checked for your query rather than assumed from a fixed field list.

What is the difference between Piwik bounce rate and goal conversion rate?

Bounce rate measures the share of sessions with only one page viewed and no further page view, goal conversion or order. Goal conversion rate measures the share of sessions in which a visitor completed a goal. Reviewing both helps you discuss engagement and goal completion as separate outcomes.

How should I compare revenue and abandoned cart value in Piwik?

Choose matching currency variants: local currency, site or app currency, or USD. Revenue is completed order value including subtotal, tax, shipping and discounts. Abandoned cart value excludes discounts, shipping and taxes. Report them separately; abandoned cart value is not completed revenue.
