Explore Facebook Pages, publishing activity and post engagement

Build your analysis around Page information and post metrics. Keep audience counts separate from post engagement, and use post creation dates to define the publishing period you want to review.

01

Put Page audience figures in context

Review Follower Count, Fan Count, Talking About Count and Checkins alongside Page Category, Page About and Page Description. These fields help you prepare a Page overview with context for the client's business.

Interpret Fan Count carefully: it represents users who like the Page, covers all Pages across the brand for Global Pages, and returns Follower Count for New Page Experience Pages. Checkins count visits recorded at a place represented by a Page.

02

Compare publishing volume with engagement per post

Use Post Count with Likes Per Post, Comments Per Post, Reaction Per Post and Shares Per Post to review publishing activity alongside the response each post receives.

Post Created At provides the publishing date, while Post Updated At identifies when a post was updated. Use creation dates for publishing-period comparisons, and include Post From Name or Post From Id when you need author context.

03

Break down the response to posts

Review Likes Count, Comments Count, Shares Count and Reactions Count to see how people responded to posts. Explore individual reaction counts such as Love, Haha, Wow, Care, Sad and Angry when you need a more detailed breakdown.

Use this breakdown to identify posts worth discussing with a client. Reaction types describe recorded responses; they do not establish why people reacted or what the comments said.

Connect Catchr MCP to your AI assistant

Connect Facebook Public Data in Catchr using OAuth authorization and select the relevant accounts. Then connect ChatGPT or Claude through Catchr MCP and ask for the Page or post fields needed for your review.

Start with a defined scope, such as Page audience figures or engagement for posts created during a selected period. Page Description requires Page Public Content Access or Page Public Metadata Access.

Four Facebook Public Data questions for your next client review

Use these prompts to prepare a Page overview, compare publishing periods, find posts with more shares or examine reaction patterns. Replace the bracketed values with your account, dates and thresholds.

PROMPT 01

Prepare a Page audience overview

Using Catchr, what do the available Page audience figures show for [account]? Return Follower Count, Fan Count, Talking About Count and Checkins with Page Category and Page About. Explain the Fan Count distinction for Global Pages and New Page Experience Pages without assuming which type applies. Flag unavailable values and draft a short client briefing without inferring audience growth from a single set of counts.

PROMPT 02

Compare publishing activity across two periods

Using Catchr, how did publishing volume and engagement per post differ for [account] between [first period start]–[first period end] and [second period start]–[second period end]? Use Post Created At to define the periods. Compare Post Count, Likes Per Post, Comments Per Post, Reaction Per Post and Shares Per Post. Show the available results side by side, note unequal period lengths and distinguish post creation dates from the timing of engagement.

PROMPT 03

Find posts with more shares

Using Catchr, which posts from [account], created between [start date] and [end date], have Shares Count of at least [minimum shares]? Sort the results by Shares Count and include Post Created At, Post From Name, Likes Count, Comments Count and Reactions Count. Summarize how the engagement counts differ among the returned posts, and state if none meet the threshold.

PROMPT 04

Review reaction patterns before a client call

Using Catchr, which posts from [account], created between [start date] and [end date], have Reactions Angry of at least [minimum angry reactions]? Show Post Created At, Post From Name, Reactions Count, Reactions Angry, Reactions Sad, Reactions Care, Reactions Love and Comments Count. Rank by Reactions Angry and suggest which posts to review with the client, without inferring comment content or the cause of the reactions.

Facebook Public Data reporting questions

How do I connect Facebook Public Data to ChatGPT or Claude?

Connect Facebook Public Data in Catchr through OAuth, select the relevant accounts and connect your AI destination through Catchr MCP. You can then request Page audience figures or post engagement metrics for a defined reporting scope.

What is the difference between Fan Count and Follower Count?

Follower Count is the number of Page followers. Fan Count normally counts users who like the Page. For Global Pages, it covers all Pages across the brand; for New Page Experience Pages, it returns Follower Count. Do not add the two fields together as a unique audience total.

Can I compare engagement for posts published in different periods?

Use Post Created At to define each publishing period, then compare Post Count and the available engagement totals or per-post metrics. This compares posts created in those periods; it does not establish when each reaction, comment or share occurred.

Can reaction and comment counts explain why people responded?

Comments Count and individual reaction counts help identify posts for closer review. They do not provide comment text or establish the reasons behind a response. Use them to prioritize discussion, with interpretation kept separate from the reported counts.
