Explore your Bluesky profile, posts, and engagement

Start with the account’s current profile, select posts by creation date, and examine the responses those posts have accumulated. Keep the reporting period separate from engagement timing: dates select posts, while counters show current lifetime totals.

01

Build a current profile overview

Bring the client’s handle, display name, description, website, and current follower, following, and post counts into a profile summary. Use the profile observation timestamp to give that snapshot context.

Profile data reflects the current account and ignores report date ranges. It supports an account overview, but cannot establish follower growth over a selected period.

02

Review authored posts and replies

Use post text, author handle, creation timestamp, and reply status to review what the account published within an inclusive UTC date range. Authored replies are included; reposts and pinned-feed additions are excluded.

Separate replies from other authored posts for a clearer content review. Reply parent and root URIs identify reply targets, but the referenced posts may not be included in the results.

03

Compare current engagement across posts

Compare likes, replies, reposts, quotes, and bookmarks to see which selected posts have accumulated responses. Post Engagements adds likes, replies, reposts, and quotes; it excludes bookmarks and does not count unique engaged users.

These counters are current lifetime snapshots, not historical daily values. Missing counters remain unknown, and total engagements are unavailable if any required component is missing.

Connect Catchr MCP to your AI assistant

Connect a Bluesky-hosted account to Catchr using its handle and app password. The connection identifies one verified Bluesky account. Then connect your AI destination through Catchr MCP and ask ChatGPT or Claude about that account’s profile and authored posts.

Include the account and a UTC creation-date range when asking about posts. Profile questions return a current snapshot regardless of the dates you specify.

Four Bluesky questions for your next client review

Replace the bracketed values with your client account, dates, and thresholds. These prompts cover content selection, reply activity, profile reporting, and a closer look at how posts earn engagement.

PROMPT 01

Find posts worth discussing with your client

Using Catchr, which authored posts from [account] created between [start date] and [end date], inclusive in UTC, have current Post Engagements of at least [engagement threshold]? Rank qualifying posts by engagements and show post text, creation timestamp, reply status, likes, replies, reposts, and quotes. List posts with unknown engagement totals separately. Label all counters as current lifetime totals, not engagement earned during the selected period.

PROMPT 02

Compare replies with other authored posts

Using Catchr, how do authored replies compare with other authored posts for [account] created between [start date] and [end date], inclusive in UTC? Group posts by Post Is Reply and show the number of returned posts, the number with known Post Engagements, and average current engagements using only known values. Include representative post text from each group and explain that the counters are lifetime snapshots rather than period activity.

PROMPT 03

Prepare a Bluesky profile briefing

Using Catchr, prepare a current Bluesky profile briefing for [account] with its handle, display name, description, website, follower count, following count, post count, and profile observation timestamp. Flag unavailable values and write a short factual summary for a client meeting. Make clear that this is a current snapshot and does not measure follower growth.

PROMPT 04

Examine posts that attract replies and quotes

Using Catchr, which authored posts from [account] created between [start date] and [end date], inclusive in UTC, have at least [reply threshold] current replies or [quote threshold] current quotes? Show post text, reply status, replies, quotes, reposts, likes, and bookmarks. Review the returned text for recurring subjects and suggest discussion points for the next content planning meeting, without claiming those subjects caused engagement. Keep missing counters unknown and describe the values as current lifetime totals.

Questions about Bluesky reporting with Catchr MCP

How do I connect a client’s Bluesky account?

Use the Bluesky-hosted account’s handle and app password to connect it to Catchr. Each connection identifies one verified account. Then use ChatGPT or Claude through Catchr MCP to ask questions about its profile and authored posts. Frequent refreshes can exhaust Bluesky’s account session limits, so avoid unnecessary repeated refreshes.

Which Bluesky posts are included in a report?

Reports include the account’s authored posts and authored replies, filtered by an inclusive UTC creation-date range. Reposts and pinned-feed additions are excluded. Reply parent and root URIs can identify reply targets, but the referenced posts may not appear in the report.

What does Post Engagements measure?

Post Engagements is the current sum of likes, replies, reposts, and quotes. It excludes bookmarks and is not a count of unique engaged users. If any of those four components is unavailable, the engagement total is unknown rather than zero.

Can I report daily engagement or follower growth?

The available snapshots do not establish daily engagement or historical follower growth. Post date filters select when posts were created; their counters remain current lifetime totals. Profile followers, following, and post counts reflect the current profile and ignore the report date range.
